About

Lake Lyell is situated on the outskirts of Lithgow approximately 2 and a half hours from Sydney. It was originally built in 1982 by Delta Electricity for the Mount Piper and Wallerawang Power Stations. The capacity is 34500ML with an approximate surface area of 238ha and a maximum water depth of 38m.

There is so much on offer at Lake Lyell! Throw out the tent on one of the non powered site or roll the van in and plug it straight into the power. The kids can play in the park or swim safely in the designated swimming area while Dad cooks lunch under the covered, free BBQ area and Mum prepares the salad on one of the large picnic tables.

This popular area is utilised for fishing, water skiiing, 4WDing, swimming, canoeing…..the list goes on! The Lake has plenty of fish for the angler in the family, Rainbow Trout, Brown Trout, Australian Bass, Goldfish and Redfin.

Once the boat is safely back on the trailer jump into the amenities for a hot shower. Toilets as well as disabled toilets and shower are available.
