A park with an absolutely breathtaking view…
Lake Lyell is situated on the outskirts of Lithgow approximately 2 and a half hours from Sydney. It was originally built in 1982 by Delta Electricity for the Mount Piper and Wallerawang Power Stations. The capacity is 34500MI, surface area 238ha, with the maximum water depth at 38m.
Facilities include kiosk, boat ramp, amenities block with hot showers, toilets, disabled toilet, covered BBQ area, kayak hire, picnic benches, park, designated swimming area, powered and non-powered camping sites suitable for vans, tents, camping trailers, caravans and motorhomes.
This popular area is utilised to fish, water ski, camp, 4WD, swim, canoe, kayak, picnic and jet ski. Fishing is plenty! Rainbow Trout, Brown Trout, and Australian Bass are the species found in Lake Lyell.
Due to the COVID-19 virus, we will remain open until further notice by the government. Whilst our workplace is not yet affected by the respiratory illness, we are still taking active measures to ensure our facilities, employees and patrons remain safe from the virus.
We ask that
– patrons that are returning from overseas do not visit the lake for 14 days.
– if you have flu-like symptoms or have been in contact with someone with COVID-19, we ask that you please contact our office before arriving to change your booking.
– you please practise good hygiene within our facilities.
– day visitors come prepared and place $5 in gold coins in the boom gate rather than entering the office.
If needing to cancel your booking due to COVID-19 or flu like symptoms such as fever, cough, runny nose and breathing problems we have the following regulations. Refunds will not be given. Bookings may be moved ONCE only, otherwise the 50 % deposit will be lost.
